Solbakken Lodge Scholarships

THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN OF SOLBAKKEN 6-64 MEMBERS, AS WELL AS TO MEMBERS THEMSELVES IF THEY MEET THE APPROPRIATE CRITERIA:

A.  One scholarship to attend the UNIVERSITY OF OSLO INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL (one per year in the value of the tuition).

B.  One or more scholarships to attend a UNIVERSITY or COLLEGE in the USA ($750 to $1000 in value).

C.  One scholarship to attend a UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE in Southern California by a native of Norway (juniors or seniors only in the Amount of $500. at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.

D.  One scholarship to attend CONCORDIA LANGUAGE VILLAGES in . Bemidji, MN. Previous attendance of Sons of Norway Language & Heritage Camp is a prerequisite. Amount is current tuition for a Two-week camp.

E.  Scholarship to attend CAMP NORGE, the Sixth District Language/Heritage Camp (Trollfjell), at Alta, California. Solbakken Lodge offers scholarships for a child or grandchild of a Solbakken member to attend Camp Norge in the summertime (either one of two [if offered] 2-week sessions). Applicants may be students of ages 8 to 13, inclusive. The scholarship covers the current registration fee, board, room and tuition. Transportation to and from the camp is at the expense of the child or his sponsor.

NOTE: A STUDENT CAN RECEIVE ONLY ONE TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP IN THE SAME YEAR AND CAN ONLY RECEIVE THE SAME TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP ONCE. All transportation and other incidental expenses are to be borne by the student or his sponsor. Solbakken policy governs all details not outlined here.
